Foundation & Floor Slab Design over Geopier & Impact Rammed Aggregate Pier Systems

The Geopier and Impact Rammed Aggregate Pier (RAP) systems have been used on a wide variety of poor soil sites to support buildings, tanks and other structures.  The poor soil conditions have locally included peat, organic silt, very soft clay and silt, very loose sands and existing fills.

The presentation will briefly cover the method of construction and engineering principles for each system, followed by a discussion on how the high stress concentration ratios afforded by the RAP elements influence both foundation and floor slab designs.

- This program is free to ACEC/MN members -
Lunch will be provided by Geopier Foundation Company - Midwest

Presenter: The presentation will be given by Charles Allgood, P.E., the licensed Rammed Aggregate Pier systems designer for Minnesota and North and South Dakota.  Mr. Allgood received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Military Institute, his Master's degree in Civil Engineering from University of Florida, is licensed in six states as a professional engineer, and has over 19 years experience in geotechnical consulting engineering.
