2009 Engineering Excellence Awards
ACEC/MN strives to recognize the achievements of individual members as well as those of the member firms. The Annual Engineering Excellence Awards Competition is a great opportunity to showcase your work to existing and potential clients, and promote your firm’s capabilities to the community.
This year, the annual awards banquet is scheduled for Friday, January 30, 2009, at the International Market Square in Minneapolis.

State Informational Meeting: September 10, 2008 (12 p.m. – lunch provided)
Preliminary State Entries Due: October 1, 2008 (electronic submittals only please)
Final State Entries Due: October 30, 2008 (12 p.m.)
State Judging: November 19, 2008
Notice of state grand/honor winners: November 20, 2008
Final National Entries Due to ACEC National in Washington, DC: January 9, 2009 (12 p.m.)
State Awards Banquet: January 30, 2009
National Judging: February 13-15, 2009
National Awards Gala: April 29, 2009 in Washington, D.C.

The Engineering Excellence awards are presented annually by ACEC/MN, to recognize achievements that demonstrate the highest degree of merit and serve to advance the profession. Careful consideration is given to the selection of winners, who will represent Minnesota in a national competition held in Washington, D.C.
Entries are judged on the following criteria:
- Uniqueness/originality
- Complexity
- Exceeding the needs of the owner/client
- Social,economic and sustainable design considerations
- Future value to the engineering profession
- Positive public impact (enhancing perception/awareness of the profession)
