Support for the Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying,
Landscape Architecture, Interior Design and Geoscience

Background:
The board of licensure is a valuable resource to the citizens of the State of Minnesota. Persons practicing in the fields regulated by this board have a significant impact on the public's health, safety and welfare. The board regulates the individuals who make up the professions and protects the public from unlicensed practice. The board enforces the registration laws and polices the professions licensed under its control.

ACEC/MN and other organizations have strongly supported the Board over the years. We
supported increasing licensing fees to allow for additional enforcement staff, the establishment
of continuing education requirements and clarification of when signatures on documents are
required.

ACEC/MN Position:
We support the continuation of the Board and adequate financial and other resources to effectively enforce the registration laws.
